You can now use Macquarie Authenticator to verify your Adviser Online password updates and for External Systems Interface (ESI) credential generation instead of SMS.
To download and start using Macquarie Authenticator, simply login to Adviser Online and scan the QR code with your mobile device and follow the prompts.
Macquarie Authenticator – why do we love it?
Macquarie Authenticator is easy to use and:
- you only need to tap a button to approve an action rather than typing numbers from a security code SMS
- it’s our most secure and recommended verification method, designed to help prevent you and your clients falling victim to third party fraud
- it provides an extra layer of security by sending actionable push notifications instead of SMS when prompted to verify certain transactions and account changes.
- it can be used when you don’t have access to the internet or mobile data networks
- it works by providing a randomly generated code, known as a rolling code, that can be accessed by the app at any time and is available 24/7.
Macquarie Authenticator and AIP
Right now, when you submit an Adviser Initiated Payment (AIP), your client will verify the payment via SMS. Soon your clients will also be able to verify AIP transactions when using Macquarie Authenticator, our most secure and preferred verification method.
Your clients will also receive a push notification which they will simply accept from their own device to authorise the payment immediately. Your clients will need to download the app to do this, and we’ll be in touch when this is available.
