Cadetship is the term given to the combination of work and University studies. A cadetship is offered to HSC school leavers who are wanting to combine employment with formal university studies. Once employed, students will for the next four years, work and study in changing full-time and part-time patterns. Cadets are paid a salary and a range of benefits including financial assistance towards their degree, with the expectation that they will continue their employment with the organisation beyond their graduation from University. Two examples of work study patterns are outlined below: 2 + 2 Program Students will engage in 2 years part-time study at an accredited tertiary institution whilst undertaking full time work. At the completion of the first 2 years they will then engage in full-time study and work throughout their university vacation periods. 3 + 1.5 Program This is the same structure as above, however students will study part-time for 3 years, whilst working full-time. They will then complete 1.5 years of full-time study, again working during their university vacation periods. Current vacancies |
