I play a part in most of the high-profile transactions that Macquarie undertakes globally, and the variety of interesting issues that arise makes my job very enjoyable. I also work with a great team, and the dynamic nature of the business keeps me on my toes.

The great thing about Macquarie is that your career is truly what you make it. In the relatively short time I've been here, I have been given significant responsibilities and received many opportunities to explore working in areas that are new and challenging.

Macquarie is an organisation that provides a huge amount of potential for individuals to achieve and develop their careers. Every transaction and every business is different, so new challenges and opportunities constantly arise, and you are learning every day.

I manage a team of people in the Credit Division, analysing some of the most interesting transactions happening in the banking market, and work in a great team environment. The work varies considerably, but typically it requires me to read research reports and documentation related to the various aspects of transactions being considered, and also to meet with people in other parts of the organisation to discuss the transaction and how risks can be managed or mitigated.

Macquarie gives you the opportunity to pursue new ideas and opportunities within boundaries, and has a structure that allows businesses to move rapidly, despite the size of the organisation.

I am responsible for the management of Internal Audit services to the Macquarie Capital and Funds Management Groups, and there is never a day that I'm not involved in a new deal. I get to witness a lot of the activity that happens across the world in Macquarie, and see a cross-spectrum of products, deals, businesses and people.

My Division has global responsibility, so I will be seeing a lot of the world during the next few years. I have already been to Korea and I'm heading to Los Angeles, London, New York and Hong Kong this year.

Macquarie looks after its staff very well and provides you with a variety of courses, tools and career opportunities to achieve your goals. You feel like a part of the whole organisation, not just the team you work for. There also is a strong culture of performance recognition, more so than in any other organisation I've worked in.
