Activities
Equity Markets Group manages Macquarie’s equity derivatives business. It utilises its expertise in risk management and product structuring skills to design equity-based financial solutions and products for retail and wholesale clients. EMG also operates the Macquarie’s stock borrowing and lending business and hedge funds.

Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, UK and US.


Equity Products Division

The Equity Products Division offers equity-linked investment, trading and risk management products to clients in Australia, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the US.

Products offered include listed investment and trading products such as equity warrants and instalment warrants, as well as unlisted products such as equity linked notes, participation notes, equity swaps and vanilla and exotic OTC options.  

Fund Products Division

The Fund Products Division manages a range of hedge funds that includes single strategy, multi-strategy and fund-of-hedge funds. Funds are offered to institutional investors globally as well as directly to retail investors in Australia.

The Funds Products Division also offers structured product over managed funds to wholesale and retail clients.

As at 31 March 2008, funds under management (excluding funds provided by the Macquarie Group) totalled $3.27 billion.

Global Equity Finance Division

The Global Equity Finance Division undertakes securities borrowing and lending and provides structured equity finance solutions to clients in Australia, Asia, Europe and the US.

Alternative Strategies Division

The Alternative Strategies Division was formed on 1 April 2007 in conjunction with Macquarie Capital Securities (Macquarie Group’s securities broking business). The new division offers equity derivatives, market access and financing to Macquarie’s hedge fund clients.
