Activities 
The Funds Management Group focuses on the management of securities. It manages funds across the full spectrum of asset classes with $A57.4 billion in assets under management at 31 March 2008. The group markets its products in Australia and internationally.

Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, UK and US.

Macquarie Funds Management is one of Australia’s largest fund managers and provides an innovative range of investment solutions to superannuation funds, corporations, financial advisers, platforms and retail investors in Australia and internationally.

With over 25 years of funds management experience, Macquarie Funds Management is a full-service manager, spanning all major asset classes. Within each asset class, investors are able to access a range of investment styles across the full risk spectrum, including:

Cash and Fixed Interest Australia’s largest cash manager and one of Australia’s leading fixed interest managers. Macquarie Funds Management has built expertise in a diverse range of products including active, enhanced and indexed funds, over both Australian and international securities.

Australian and International Equities a style-neutral investment process is offered to investors across a range of active risk levels including enhanced index, market neutral, long/short, high conviction and small companies funds.

Listed Real Estate offers investment solutions in Australian, Asian and other international listed real estate securities.

Currency management of currency exposures via both active strategies and dynamic currency hedging.

Private Equity provides innovative private equity solutions, including the Macquarie Clean Technology Fund and the Macquarie Asia Pacific Private Equity Fund.  The group offers products to both the institutional and retail markets.

Private equity fund-of-fund operations are also offered from international offices in Carlsbad (California), Hong Kong and London.

Infrastructure Securities in a joint initiative with Macquarie Capital, Macquarie Funds Management distributes the first global infrastructure securities fund in Australia, the Macquarie International Infrastructure Securities Fund.

Commodities in cooperation with the Treasury and Commodities Group, Macquarie Funds Management launched the Macquarie Commodities Fund which provides investors with exposure to a commodities index plus alpha from trading commodities derivatives.

In September 2007, Macquarie Funds Management sold its 65% interest in Macquarie–IMM Investment Management, a South Korean-based joint venture with IMM & Co.
