Broadcast Australia Signs Portal Services Agreement with Southern Cross Broadcasting |
|
|
30 January 2004 Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group (MCG) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Broadcast Australia (BA), has signed a 15-year Portal Services Agreement with Southern Cross Broadcasting (Australia) Limited Group (SCB). This agreement is for access to Broadcast Australia’s regional broadcast infrastructure in six states/territories for SCB to transmit new digital and analogue television services, as well as the extension of all analogue contracts until the legislated phase out of analogue television in those regions. The contract provides for access to 41 transmission sites. MCG Chief Executive Officer Scott Davies said, “Broadcast Australia is continuing to demonstrate its ability to grow revenue from the effective utilisation of its existing network of broadcast infrastructure. “The agreement with SCB is the third that Broadcast Australia has successfully negotiated with regional television digital and analogue content providers. Details of the new contract remain confidential, however this latest agreement with SCB brings the value of new contracts awarded to BA to approximately $385 million since MCG listed in August 2002,“ Mr Davies said.
