MCG Entitlement Issue Update - Initial Allotment of Securities

As a result of the Institutional Rights Bookbuild and Placement in December, along with those stapled security holders who accepted the Initial Allotment in the Entitlement Issue, MCG will issue an additional 145,063,958 securities today, 5 January 2005, as referred to in the MCG appendix 3B dated 9 December 2004.  The resulting issued capital of MCG is 315,251,554 stapled securities.

The securities allotted will trade on ASX on a deferred settlement basis under the security code MCGN from today (5 January) until 7 January when they will then trade on a normal basis.

Holding statements for securities issued under the Initial Allotment are expected to be despatched to stapled security holders on 6 January. 

All other details in the MCG Appendix 3B dated 9 December 2004 remain the same including the closing date to participate in the Final Allotment (ie. 5.00pm (Sydney time) on Friday, 14 January 2005).
