Broadcast Australia Signs Portal Services Agreement with Prime Television |
|
|
26 November 2003 Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group (MCG) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Broadcast Australia (BA), has signed a 15-year Portal Services Agreement with Prime Television Limited. This agreement allows Prime Television to access Broadcast Australia's regional broadcast infrastructure to transmit digital television in New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT. The contract provides for access to up to 19 transmission sites across the three states. Once fully rolled out, the total order book value of the agreement over the 15-year term is $14.5 million. MCG Chief Executive Officer Scott Davies said: "The agreement with Prime TV cements BA's position as Australia's leading broadcast transmission service provider. Prime TV joins the ABC and SBS as users of BA's extensive network of broadcast infrastructure to deliver digital television services. "The contract highlights the potential within BA to expand its revenue base through using its broadcast infrastructure for additional services. BA continues to investigate additional sources of revenue and business initiatives which can enhance the digital landscape and provide additional services for consumers," Mr Davies said. The agreement with Prime takes the value of new contracts awarded to BA to approximately $352 million since MCG listed in August 2002. For further information, please contact:
