04 May 2000

Macquarie Infrastructure Investment Management Limited (MIIML), the Manager of Macquarie Infrastructure Group (MIG), today announced details on traffic use for the Eastern Distributor and M5 toll roads in Sydney.

MIG owns 68.4% of the equity in the Airport Motorway Group, which holds a 48 year concession for the Eastern Distributor. It also owns 50% of Interlink Roads Pty Limited, which holds a concession for the M5 toll road that expires in 2022.

To assist with any analysis of the impact of seasonal factors on traffic numbers, tables giving a breakdown between weekday traffic and weekend/public holiday traffic for both the Eastern Distributor and the M5 have been included in this announcement and will continue to be provided.

The table shows that average weekday traffic increased by 2.5% during the month indicating that underlying traffic growth remains strong.
