MIG Eastern Distributor and M5 Traffic December 2000

Macquarie Infrastructure Investment Management Limited (MIIML), the Responsible Entity for Macquarie Infrastructure Group (MIG), today announced details on traffic use for the Eastern Distributor and M5 toll roads in Sydney for December 2000.

MIG owns 71.35% of the equity in the Airport Motorway Group, which holds a 48 year concession for the Eastern Distributor. It also owns 50% of Interlink Roads Pty Limited, which holds a concession for the M5 toll road that expires in 2022.

Due to the impact of Christmas, figures are shown both before and during the Christmas holiday period.

Average daily tolled traffic for the Eastern Distributor for December 2000 was 28,290, a decrease of 5.4% relative to November 2000. However, traffic growth in the period prior to the holiday period was quite strong.

Average weekday traffic was 32,083, a decrease of 0.8% over the previous month while average traffic on weekends and public holidays was 22,285, a decrease of 4.0%.

Average south bound (non-toll paying) traffic during December was 44,426 a 4.5% decrease relative to November 2000. Toll paying traffic represents 63.7% of south bound (non-toll paying) traffic.

Average daily toll revenue (net of GST) for Airport Motorway in December 2000 was $83,918, a 5.2% decrease relative to November 2000.

Average daily tolled traffic on the M5 for December 2000 was 60,980, a decrease of 5.8% relative to November 2000, and 1.9% relative to December 1999.

Average weekday tolled traffic on the M5 for December 2000 was 66,049, a decrease of 2.6% relative to November 2000, and 0.6% relative to December 1999.

Average tolled traffic on weekends and public holidays on the M5 for December 2000 was 52,953, a decrease of 6.0% relative to November 2000, and 0.3% relative to December 1999.

Average daily toll revenue (net of GST) for Interlink Roads in December 2000 was $160,241, a 6.3% decrease relative to November 2000.
