Macquarie Infrastructure Group Eastern Distributor (M1), M4 and M5 traffic, May 2001 |

08 June 2001 Macquarie Infrastructure Group (MIG), today announced details on traffic use for the Eastern Distributor (M1), M4 and M5 toll roads in Sydney. MIG currently owns 71.35% of the equity in the Airport Motorway Group, which holds a 48 year concession for the Eastern Distributor (M1). It owns 50.6% of Statewide Roads Limited, which holds a concession for the M4 toll road until 2010. It also owns 50% of Interlink Roads Pty Limited, which holds a concession for the M5 toll road that expires in 2022. Airport Motorway Group - M1
Average daily toll revenue (net of GST) for Airport Motorway in May 2001 was $89,137, a 5.7% increase relative to May 2000. Average daily tolled traffic on the Eastern Distributor (M1) for May 2001 was 8.9% higher than May 2000 and 5.2% higher than April 2001. Revenue is not increasing in proportion to traffic increases, as Airport Motorway is still absorbing approximately one third of GST charges. Average weekday traffic on the Eastern Distributor (M1) for May 2001 was 9.4% higher than May 2000. Average traffic on weekends and public holidays on the Eastern Distributor (M1) for May 2001 was 6.7% higher than May 2000. Average daily toll revenue (net of GST) for Interlink Roads in May 2001 was $197,263, a 12.3% increase relative to May 2000. This reflects the toll increase for cars from $2.70 to $3.30 and trucks from $6.50 to $6.60 that occurred on 5 March 2001. Average daily traffic on the M5 for May 2001 was 4.5% lower than May 2000 and 5.1% higher than April 2001. Average weekday traffic on the M5 for May 2001 was 4.1% lower than May 2000. Average daily toll revenue (net of GST) for Statewide Roads in May 2001 was $186,606, a 19.9% increase relative to May 2000. Average daily traffic on the M4 for May 2001 was 6.1% lower than May 2000 and 5.9% higher than April 2001. Average weekday traffic on the M4 for May 2001 was 5.8% lower than May 2000. Average traffic on weekends and public holidays on the M4 for May 2001 was 7.4% lower than May 2000.
