Appointment of Alan Stockdale as Head of Investor & External Relations

Macquarie Infrastructure Group (MIG) today announced the appointment of Mr Alan Stockdale, an Executive Director of Macquarie Bank Limited (Macquarie), as Head of Investor and External Relations.

Mr Stockdale will be responsible for the ongoing development of MIG’s relationship with existing and potential investors, the governments that MIG works with around the world and other external stakeholders.

Mr Stockdale joined Macquarie’s infrastructure advisory business in 1999, following a successful career in business and as a barrister, and then as Victorian State Treasurer from 1992 to 1999. He was also the world’s first Minister for Information Technology and Multimedia from 1996 to 1999.

Mr Steve Allen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MIG said today, “Alan has 18 years experience working in the field of privatised infrastructure development as a member of Parliament, as Treasurer of Victoria and most recently as part of Macquarie’s infrastructure advisory team. He has strong commercial experience and brings a deep understanding of the complex and competing issues that surround the ownership of concession based assets. He is an ideal appointment to the MIG team.

”Alan is a senior member of Macquarie’s staff and his appointment reflects the importance that MIG attaches to our relationship with investors and other stakeholders in MIG.

“Alan will be working very closely with me and the MIG team and will have global responsibility for our investor and external relationship programs. He will begin his new role in mid August,” Mr Allen said.

Mr Stockdale said, “MIG is one of the world’s most substantial infrastructure managers and has experienced very strong growth since its listing in December, 1996. I am looking forward to working with Steve Allen and the team to ensure that our existing investors, potential investors and other stakeholders understand the MIG story, get the information they need and appreciate MIG’s future prospects.”

MIG, the Macquarie Bank Group managed road infrastructure fund, is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and has an investor base of 42,000 institutional and retail investors globally. MIG’s market capitalisation is $6.2 billion and it has investments in 26 roads across 8 countries.
