Macquarie Infrastructure Group 407ETR, M1, M4 and M5 Traffic September 2003

Macquarie Infrastructure Group (MIG), today announced details of traffic use for the 407ETR toll road in Toronto and the Eastern Distributor (M1), M4 and M5 toll roads in Sydney.

Due to restrictions imposed by a number of legal agreements dealing with the 407ETR, only monthly statistics on Average Workday Traffic, Average Daily Traffic and Total Vehicle Kilometres Travelled can be released.  More detailed statistics on the 407ETR are released quarterly.

MIG currently owns:

  • Both directly and indirectly (through its holding in Spanish company, Cintra) 43.0% of the equity in 407 International Inc, the owner of the concession for the 407ETR toll road in Toronto;
  • 71.35% of the equity in the Airport Motorway Group, the owner of the concession for the Eastern Distributor (M1) in Sydney;
  • 50.6% of Statewide Roads Limited, the owner of the concession for the M4 toll road in Sydney; and
  • 50% of Interlink Roads Pty Limited, the owner of the concession for the M5 toll road in Sydney.

Average daily toll revenue (net of GST) for Airport Motorway in September 2003 was $148,500 – a 20.2% increase relative to September 2002.

Average daily tolled traffic on the Eastern Distributor (M1) for September 2003 was 5.3% higher than September 2002.

Average workday traffic on the Eastern Distributor (M1) for September 2003 was 4.3% higher than September 2002.

Average traffic on weekends and public holidays on the Eastern Distributor (M1) for September 2003 was 4.2% higher than September 2002.

Non-cash transactions on the Eastern Distributor (M1) consisted of 49% of average daily traffic in September 2003 (August 2003: 48%).

Average daily toll revenue (net of GST) for Interlink Roads in September 2003 was $316,686 - a 12.3% increase relative to September 2002.

Average daily traffic on the M5 for September 2003 was 11.2% higher than September 2002.

Average workday traffic on the M5 for September 2003 was 10.8% higher than September 2002. 

Average traffic on weekends and public holidays on the M5 for September 2003 was 10.0% higher than September 2002.

Non-cash transactions on the M5 in September 2003 consisted of 71% of average daily traffic  (August 2003: 70%).

Average daily traffic on the M4 for September 2003 was 7.5% higher than September 2002.

Average workday traffic on the M4 for September 2003 was 6.8% higher than September 2002.

Average traffic on weekends and public holidays on the M4 for September 2003 was 6.0% higher than September 2002.

Non-cash transactions on the M4 in September 2003 consisted of 57% of average daily traffic  (August 2003: 56%).
