407 ETR, M6 TOLL, M1, M4, M5, Warnow Tunnel Traffic December 2004 Vasco Da Gama, 25TH April Bridge Traffic November 2004

Macquarie Infrastructure Group (MIG), today announced details of traffic use for:

• 407 ETR in Canada
• M6 Toll in United Kingdom
• Eastern Distributor (M1) in Australia
• M4 in Australia
• M5 in Australia
• Warnow Tunnel in Germany
• Vasco da Gama in Portugal (November)
• 25^th April Bridge in Portugal (November)

Due to restrictions imposed by a number of legal agreements dealing with the 407 ETR, only monthly statistics on Average Workday Traffic, Average Daily Traffic and Total Vehicle Kilometres Travelled can be released.  More detailed statistics on the 407 ETR are released quarterly.

Similarly, traffic data for Warnow Tunnel, Vasco da Gama and 25^th April Bridge is restricted to Average Daily Traffic (ADT) for the month.

MIG currently owns:

• 30% of the equity in 407 International Inc, the owner of the concession for the 407 ETR toll road in Toronto;
• 75% of the equity (with options to move to 100% in 2005) in Midland Expressway Limited, the owner of the concession for the M6 Toll in Birmingham;
• 71.35% of the equity in the Airport Motorway Group, the owner of the concession for the Eastern Distributor (M1) in Sydney;
• 50.6% of Statewide Roads Limited, the owner of the concession for the M4 toll road in Sydney;
• 50% of Interlink Roads Pty Limited, the owner of the concession for the M5 toll road in Sydney;
• 70% of the equity in Warnowquerung GMBH & Co. KG, the owner of the concession for the Warnow River Crossing in Rostock, Germany; and
• 30.6% of the equity in Lusoponte, the owner of the concession for the Vasco da Gama & 25th April Bridges in Lisbon, Portugal.

Please note that December 2004 had the same number of workdays as December 2003.

407 International Inc - 407ETR

Total Vehicle Kilometres Travelled on the 407 ETR during December 2004 was 6.4% higher than December 2003.

The average number of workday trips on the 407 ETR during December 2004 was 3.0% higher than December 2003.

The average daily trips on the 407 ETR during December 2004 was 3.9% higher than December 2003.

Midland Expressway Limited - M6 Toll

NB. Prior year comparatives below are calculated by reference to the period of full opening of the M6Toll from 14 – 31 December 2003 compared to the full month of December 2004.

Average daily toll revenue (net of VAT) for Midland Expressway in December 2004 was £117,446 – an 86.4% increase relative to December 2003. 

Average daily traffic on the M6 Toll for December 2004 was 32.1% higher than December 2003.

Average workday traffic on the M6 Toll for December 2004 was 41.0% higher than December 2003. 

Average weekend and public holiday traffic on the M6 Toll for December 2004 was 12.0% higher than December 2003.

During December 2004, daily traffic varied from a low of 13,090 (Christmas day) to a high of 61,460.

Airport Motorway Group - M1

Average daily toll revenue (net of GST) for Airport Motorway in December 2004 was $156,343 – a 4.9% increase relative to December 2003.

Average daily traffic on the Eastern Distributor (M1) for December 2004 was 5.0% higher than December 2003.

Average workday traffic on the Eastern Distributor (M1) for December 2004 was 5.8% higher than December 2003.

Average traffic on weekends and public holidays on the Eastern Distributor (M1) for December 2004 was 2.5% higher than December 2003.

Non-cash transactions on the Eastern Distributor (M1) consisted of 58% of average daily traffic in December 2004 (December 2003: 49%).

Statewide Roads – M4

Average daily toll revenue (net of GST) for Statewide Roads in December 2004 was $214,672 - a 5.4% increase relative to December 2003.

Average daily traffic on the M4 for December 2004 was 5.2% higher than December 2003.

Average workday traffic on the M4 for December 2004 was 5.7% higher than December 2003.

Average traffic on weekends and public holidays on the M4 for December 2004 was 3.9% higher than December 2003.

Non-cash transactions on the M4 in December 2004 consisted of 60% of average daily traffic  (December 2003: 56%).

Interlink Roads - M5

Average daily toll revenue (net of GST) for Interlink Roads in December 2004 was $321,105 - a 3.9% increase relative to December 2003.

Average daily traffic on the M5 for December 2004 was 3.5% higher than December 2003.

Average workday traffic on the M5 for December 2004 was 3.5% higher than December 2003. 

Average traffic on weekends and public holidays on the M5 for December 2004 was 3.4% higher than December 2003.

Non-cash transactions on the M5 in December 2004 consisted of 69% of average daily traffic  (December 2003: 68%).

Warnowquerung GMBH & Co - Warnow Tunnel

Lusoponte - Vasco da Gama
