|
|
09 September 2005 Macquarie Infrastructure Group (MIG) today announced that it has reached financial close on its investment in the Dulles Greenway toll road in Virginia. The Dulles Greenway concession is owned by TRIP II, a limited partnership. MIG has invested US$533 million to provide loans against and hold options over 86.7% of TRIP II and acquire 100% of the General Partner, Shendandoah Greenway Corporation. The General Partner has day to day responsibility for the management and operation of the concession. MIG now has investments in three major private toll roads in the United States, including Chicago Skyway and greenfields project South Bay Expressway (SR125) in San Diego. Dulles Greenway is a 14 mile (22 kilometre) operating toll road in Virginia which runs west of Washington D.C. from Dulles International Airport to Leesburg, through Loudoun County, in northern Virginia. The road has a 10-year operating history and 51 years remaining on the concession agreement.
