AMF Bowling features

With the acquisition of AMF Bowling and BowlAustralia in 2005, Macquarie Leisure became the largest owner and operator of tenpin bowling centres in Australia.

AMF Bowling and BowlAustralia provides Macquarie Leisure with:

  • fully equipped bowling centres with automatic scoring, lane bumpers, lightweight balls, amazing sound and lighting equipment
  • the opportunity to refurbish existing traditional centres to better capture the children's birthday party, family and league markets
  • the opportunity for revenue growth with new concept centres incorporating Sliders Bowling Bars to target a younger demographic in high traffic shopping centre locations.

Kingpin features

The acquisition of Kingpin Crown bowling and family entertainment centre and the Kingpin Richmond facility complements the AMF Bowling and BowlAustralia assets.

Kingpin provides Macquarie Leisure with:

  • a unique opportunity to capitalise on the 18-35 year old demographic, open play and corporate event markets; and
  • the opportunity to develop a flagship Kingpin bowling lounge in Harbourside Shopping Centre at Sydney's Darling Harbour.

Kingpin bowling lounges:

  • redeliver the bowling experience in an upmarket, hip format aimed at recapturing the social bowler
  • incorporate music, DJ booth, PlayStation wall, disco lighting, pool, games, karaoke, M9 laser skirmish and sports
  • cater for the corporate market with a fully licensed bar, latest audio visuals and private function rooms.
