Managing your Macquarie CPF Instalment Receipts

How to acquire CPF Instalment Receipts

The steps that need to be taken before investing in CPF Instalment Receipts are set out in the SPDS for the Series.

It is important that your Application is for a dollar amount (e.g. $50,000) and not a number of CPF Instalment Receipts.  You must ensure that your Application Amount is paid to Macquarie in cleared funds, otherwise your Application may not be accepted.

My application has been approved - what happens now?

On acceptance of your application, Macquarie may need to acquire the Underlying Securities which are the subject of your application. If so, the time that this takes will depend on the nature of the Underlying Securities. For example, if the Underlying Securities are IPO Securities, then Macquarie will not be able to acquire the Underlying Securities until they are issued by the Underlying Entity.

The First and Final Instalments

You must pay the Purchase Price for the Underlying Securities in two instalments – the First Instalment and the Final Instalment.

Paying the First Instalment

Following acceptance of your application and payment of the Application Amount in cleared funds, Macquarie will determine the number of Underlying Securities in respect of which you will pay a First Instalment and the corresponding number of CPF Instalment Receipts you will be issued based on your Application Amount, the amount of the First Instalment and the Establishment Fee.

Macquarie will then apply your Application Amount to pay the First Instalment (and the Establishment Fee) in respect of that number of Underlying Securities, and will transfer that number of Underlying Securities to the Security Trustee. You will be issued a corresponding number of CPF Instalment Receipts.

If Macquarie does not acquire a sufficient number of Underlying Securities, Macquarie may, at its discretion, either withdraw its acceptance of your application, or only partially fill your application for CPF Instalment Receipts (and to this extent will refund any remaining Application Amount).

Paying the Final Instalment

The Final Instalment is included in the amount of the Completion Payment which you must pay to Macquarie.  You may give a Completion Notice and make the Completion payment early, as set out in Section 6.3 of the Macquarie CPF Instalment Receipts Combined Product Disclosure Statement and Financial Services Guide.
