Division: Corporate and Asset Finance
|
I work as a Credit Analyst in our Asset Finance division concentrating on our Korean, Chinese and Australian businesses. I have also been involved in other aspects of the business, including tenders and transactions.
I joined Macquarie as a graduate and chose to work at Macquarie because I wanted to start my career with an employer that would give me the opportunity to develop rapidly through a diverse range of experiences. Furthermore, Macquarie has always been renowned for its culture – the company places a large importance on personal development which will benefit you and in turn the business in the long run.
During my Summer Internship which I completed at Macquarie Leasing (another CAF business), I developed an interest for the work that CAF businesses are involved in. The graduate position with CAF presented me with an opportunity to develop my analytical skills and to use my finance knowledge when working on larger transactions.
Having spent a short time developing my skills with my two mentors, I was given immediate responsibility for the credit assessment of Chinese clients after a few months, with Korea and Australia soon to follow. I have now relocated to the Detroit office in the US for a year long secondment. As long as you work hard applying your skills to the business context and show an ability to learn and adapt, I have found that Macquarie is willing to give you a high level of responsibility. Importantly, there is someone always on hand to assist you if you have any questions. Macquarie is what you make of it - if you work hard and seek responsibility, you will be rewarded.
