Macquarie Specialist Investments and Class Super announce joint initiative

30 January 2012

Macquarie Specialist Investments (MSI) and Class Super today announced a joint initiative which will benefit Self Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) trustees, advisers, administrators and accountants. Effective today, MSI will be making its Macquarie Equity Lever (Equity Lever) investor data available on one of Australia's leading SMSF administration solutions, Class Super.

Equity Lever is a unique, low cost investment providing SMSF investors with access to selected ASX-listed securities. Investors receive income distributions, franking credits and capital gains (subject to their individual circumstances) using unlisted Instalment Receipts with flexible levels of leverage.

Class Super remains the only SMSF administration solution to provide users with up-to-date access to investor data. Access to current Equity Lever investment data from a single source - Class Super - will benefit and create efficiencies and improve compliance for advisers, SMSF trustees and accountants alike.

Advisers will be better equipped to deliver timely updates to their clients on the status of their investments. Access to up-to-date investor data will also allow SMSF trustees to make more timely and informed decisions about their investments. Additionally, automatic transfer of information to periodic and tax year-end reports will reduce the time accountants spend preparing SMSF audits and other reports.

Peter van der Westhuyzen, Head of MSI, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Class Super on this initiative. By reducing the time spent on administration, SMSF trustees, their advisers and accountants can focus on the strategic activities which ultimately maximise returns."

Kevin Bungard, Chief Operating Officer of Class Super noted: "The input of data manually has long been a source of frustration and inefficiency for SMSF managers - and Class Super changed that completely. With the introduction of the new Equity Lever feed, the speed and efficiency advantages that Class enjoys over its competitors has increased further - with hundreds of automated data feeds now available - for free".
