Macquarie Life reaches $100 million milestone

Macquarie Life has achieved a major milestone, exceeding $100 million in in-force premiums just four years after its launch.

During this time, Macquarie Life has insured more than 44,000 Australians, with more than 3,000 advisers currently having some of their clients insured through the provider.  

This latest milestone comes a year after the launch of Macquarie Life Active, which brought to Australia a new category of life insurance cover by rolling Life, TPD, Income Cover and Trauma into a comprehensive all-in-one insurance product.

Having won four industry awards since its launch , most recently Macquarie Life Active was recognised for turning 'the life insurance sector upside down' through its 'cleverly-thought-out-strategy' by CANSTAR CANNEX at this year's Innovation Excellence awards for Financial Services.

Macquarie Life's main focus has always been on service and innovation, and delivering solutions that meet the changing needs of advisers. It is this ongoing commitment which resulted in Macquarie Life being recognised as the strongest and most consistent performer in the industry in the Beaton Benchmarks 2010 - Life Insurance Intermediaries Study conducted by Beaton Research and Consulting.

Head of Macquarie Life, Justin Delaney, said the business was proud to be celebrating this latest milestone.

"Since Macquarie Life launched, the business has evolved from being a single product provider to a multi product and service provider, which has gained recognition in the industry for being the first to bring a new category of insurance cover to the Australian market, through Active," Mr Delaney said.

"During the past four years, our contribution to the insurance market has been recognised through the number of clients and advisers we work with and celebrated through the industry awards we have won.

"While we may not be the longest established brand in insurance, it is because of our commitment to service and innovation and through the support of the advisers we work with, that we have been able to reach this latest milestone."

In addition to the CANSTAR CANNEX award, during the past year Macquarie Life Active has been identified as one of Risk Info's Best Initiatives of 2010, was named Best Life Insurance Product of the Year at the AB+F Insurance Awards 2010 and won the Your Money magazine's Best Value for Money award.
