Special Situations

Macquarie Special Situations Fund (MSSits) is an unlisted special opportunities vehicle with liquidity features. The Fund aims to generate absolute returns through the economic and market cycles, by co-investing alongside Macquarie in special situations globally.

MSSits typically targets investments with a 24-month investment horizon, including:

  • unlisted (private market) opportunities, such as growth or expansion capital, or situations created by market dislocations, regulatory changes, undercapitalised balance sheets, or specific industries out of favour with investors
  • catalyst investments in publicly traded situations
  • sub-par and distressed debt opportunities.

MSSits is an open-ended fund, its first close was in May 2008. The Fund opens periodically for subscriptions by institutions, pension plans, fund-of-funds and high net worth investors.
