Macquarie Cash XL

Macquarie Cash XL is a bank account with Macquarie Bank Limited and is eligible for coverage under the Retail Guarantee. The Retail Guarantee is the term we use to describe the Australian Government’s guarantee under the Financial Claims Scheme, which applies to aggregate retail cash deposits of up to $A1 million held by any one account holder with Macquarie Bank Limited.

Please note that any aggregate cash deposits you have with Macquarie Bank Limited that are less than $A1 million (including any cash deposits in your Cash XL account will continue to be covered by the Retail Guarantee until 12 October 2011.

Macquarie Bank is an Authorised Deposit taking Institution (ADI), like the other retail banks in Australia. ADIs are regulated under the Banking Act 1959 (Cth). Under the Banking Act, if an ADI becomes unable to meet its obligations, its first priority is to meet its deposit liabilities. This means that all bank deposits rank ahead of equity investors and other creditors.

If you undertake an online funds transfer out of your Macquarie Cash XL account before 4.30pm Australian Eastern Standard Time, we will process it the same day. Your funds should be available on the next business day.

Cash XL does not charge an establishment fee or any transaction fees.

You can make your initial deposit by:

• Direct Debit - You will need to complete the Direct Debit Request form at the back of the Macquarie Cash XL Product Information Statement
• Funds transfer by internet/phone banking - You can do this once you receive your BSB and Account Number in your welcome kit
• Funds transfer by BPAY - Our biller code is 423475 and the reference number is your account number

We do not accept cash or cheques.

We will open your account within one to two business days of receiving your completed application and the relevant supporting documents. We will confirm your account details in writing by mail within five to 10 business days of receipt of your application and the relevant supporting documents.

A certified copy is a document that has been certified as a true and accurate copy of the original document.

This can be done by approaching one of the authorised certifiers below. The authorised person should also print their name and position and if possible affix an official stamp.

The Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 requires the collection and verification of specific information from clients.

You must supply an identification form unless you are an existing active Macquarie account holder. We may require further information from you from time to time in order to meet our obligations under AML/CTF Laws.
