A margin loan is a revolving line of credit allowing you to buy shares and units in managed funds, where your portfolio is the only security required for the loan. You can leverage an existing portfolio or create a new investment portfolio to help meet your wealth creation goals.

With a Macquarie Margin Loan, you can borrow additional funds to invest in a portfolio of Eligible Property, including of Australian listed shares and Australian managed funds.

A Macquarie Margin Loan lets you:

• borrow capital to increase your available funds for investing ($20,000 minimum loan)
• use the equity in your existing assets (shares, property or other assets) as loan security
• invest in Eligible Property, including approved shares and managed funds
• use your shares as security for your loan or as option trading collateral
• choose from a variable or fixed interest rate
• choose an Instalment Plus plan by combining regular savings with monthly loan advances to invest
• choose the Macquarie Exchange Options Plus feature which allows you to use the borrowing capacity under your Margin Loan Facility to settle an option purchase or to meet margin requirements for certain option positions
• potential tax efficiencies where the loan is used for investment purposes
