Partner brand transaction account closures

When is my transaction account closing?

As the product issuer, Macquarie Bank reached out to you in early June 2026 to provide 90 days’ notice regarding the closure of your transaction account(s).

Macquarie has made the decision to discontinue offering the following  products:

  • AFG Home Loans - Icon Transaction Account
  • Aussie Home Loans - AHL Loan Transaction Account
  • Connective - Smart Options Transaction Account
  • Mortgage Choice - Mortgage Choice Transaction Account
  • Vow Financial - Vow Transaction Account
  • Yellow Brick Road - Yellow Brick Road Empower Transaction Account

This means the above transaction account(s) will be closed on or shortly after 4 October 2026 in accordance with clause 9 of the Transaction and Offset accounts terms and conditions.

What will happen to my offset or home loan accounts?

There will be no changes to your offset or home loan accounts.

However, if you’re making repayments to your home loan from your transaction account, please follow these steps

What do I need to do before my account(s) close?

If you have one or more accounts, the communication we sent you lists out your accounts and their balances.

If your account:

  • has a balance of $0, you don’t need to do anything
  • has a positive balance, you’ll need to transfer your funds out of your account before 4 October 2026. See How do I transfer funds from my account?
  • is overdrawn, you don’t need to do anything. We’ll bring your balance back to $0, and this won’t impact your credit record.

If you’re making repayments to your home loan from your transaction account, please follow these steps.

We’ll automatically close your account(s) on or shortly after 4 October 2026.

What will happen once my account(s) have been closed?

Once your transaction account(s) have been closed:

  • all linked debit cards will stop working
  • any recurring payments or direct debits will cease
  • any incoming transfers will be returned to the sender’s account
  • you will receive a closing statement.

If, when we close your account, you have a positive balance of:

  • less than $500, we’ll take that as your instruction to donate those funds to a charity of our choice. We’ll comply with these instructions by transferring your funds by direct bank transfer to a charity of our choice within 30 days of account closure. You can contact us any time after closure to reclaim your balance.
  • $500 or more, any remaining balance held in your accounts after this date will be held by us until we receive your instructions. Please note, if there’s no activity to reclaim your balance for seven years, balances of $500 or more may be classified as unclaimed money and sent to ASIC.

What if I’m making home loan repayments from my transaction account?

If you’re using one of the above transaction account(s) to make repayments to your home loan, you’ll need to make alternative arrangements before 4 October 2026.
