PayID for DEFT payments

PayID^® lets your payers pay you directly from their banking app or online banking. All they need is an email PayID, which is based on their existing DEFT reference number (DRN):

[Payer’s existing DRN]@deft.com.au – e.g. 12345678@deft.com.au

Important: Before you let payers know they can use PayID to make DEFT payments, you’ll need to make sure that PayID is enabled for your DRNs. 

When a PayID is registered for a Short DRN, any leading zeros will automatically be omitted (e.g., DRN 000123456 becomes 123456@deft.com.au).

PayID will be automatically enabled in many cases. However, depending on the type of DRNs you use, your software provider may need to enable PayID before you can start using it.

Your software provider will update their DEFT templates (if currently available) to include registered PayID details.

PayID payments made on a non-business days will not be settled until the next business day.
