How do I open a new deposit facility?

The below guide walks you through the application journey to open a new facility, specifically for deposit products. Here’s how to get started:

  • If you’re not an existing Macquarie Business Banking customer and would like to open a facility, you can request a call with us and we’ll talk through next steps.
  • If you’re an existing customer with a multi-facility, you can open a new account directly in Macquarie Business Online. Please ensure you select the correct facility that matches your account requirements. 
  • If you’re an existing customer that needs a new, suitable facility, please reach out to your relationship manager. They’ll be able to help you get started on an application for a new one. 

Once our team has started your application, here’s what you can expect next.

Application process for a new deposit facility

  1. Application sent to administrator: The administrator will receive an email with a link to complete the application. See the section below for what you’ll need to complete an online application.
  2. Review and approve: Approvers will receive an email to review and approve the application. Depending on the application type, there may be two approvers. Any new approvers will be asked to provide their personal details for electronic verification.
  3. Account users: Any new electronic banking users and account signatories need to provide their personal details for electronic verification.
  4. Upload additional documents: If any further documents are needed, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to upload them securely.
  5. Final submission: Once all required documents have been provided, you can submit the application details.
  6. Application review and facility opening: We’ll review your application and contact you if we need any further information before opening the facility. Please note that any missing or incomplete information may delay the application.

What you’ll need to complete the online application

To complete the online application, have the following information ready:

  • Requirements specific to your entity type. See what you need to open a business banking account
  • Approvers for the application, depending on the entity type:
    • Individual: the individual 
    • Company: two directors, or a director and a company secretary
    • Sole director: the sole director 
    • Trusts: the trustees 
    • Partnership: two partners
  • Signatories for the new facility
    • Method of operation for the facility (e.g. any one to sign)
  • Details of electronic banking users.

Checking the status of an application

You can track the progress of your application at any time via the online application link that was sent to your email. The application status will appear under the ‘status’ heading, and you’ll also see any pending actions or outstanding items.
