Why we use codes for authentication

For multi-factor authentication we use a one-time 6-digit code available in your Macquarie Authenticator app.

This code updates every 30 seconds and is one of our secure verification methods. The code is available anytime, anywhere, without needing an active internet connection or mobile coverage and can be used as an alternative to push notifications.

How to use the code

On the verification panel in Macquarie Business Online (MBO):

  1. Click Verify another way
  2. Click on Code
  3. Click on Continue
  4. Enter the code that’s available from the Codes screen on your Macquarie Authenticator app
  5. Click Submit.

What if a code doesn’t work?

If you can’t approve using a code, once you’ve hit Approve or Submit for approval on your payment or task you can attempt the following:

  1. Click Verify another way on the verification screen
  2. Select a different verification method available to you.
