Choose how you want to approve payments

Stay on top of approvals and reduce distractions by learning how to best manage your device notifications and alerts effectively.

Device notifications

When you’re creating a payment or task in Macquarie Business Online (MBO), you choose which approvers are notified.

When submitting for approval, there are three options a creator can choose:

  1. notify all approvers
  2. notify specific approvers
  3. don’t notify approvers.

Macquarie Authenticator then sends a push notification to the device of the selected approvers when the payment or task is ready for approval.

For the best possible approval experience, you need to make sure that you’ve got device notifications and alerts turned on.

Check your notifications are on

To ensure Macquarie Authenticator app notifications are enabled:

Apple (iOS)

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Scroll to and tap Macquarie Authenticator.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Toggle on Allow Notifications.
     

Android

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Apps or Apps & notifications.
  3. Select Macquarie Authenticator.
  4. Tap Notifications.
  5. Toggle on Allow Notifications.
     

App alerts

Before the custom push notification tool was available in MBO, you may have muted all Macquarie Authenticator notifications so they wouldn’t bother you throughout the day.

We don’t recommend muting notifications or alerts from Macquarie Authenticator to make sure you maintain real-time control over your accounts and facilities.

Here's how you can check and un-mute any muted notifications for Macquarie Authenticator:

Android

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Scroll to and tap Macquarie Authenticator.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Ensure Allow Notifications is toggled on.
  5. Under Sounds, make sure the switch is toggled on to enable audible alerts.

Android

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Apps or Apps & notifications.
  3. Select Macquarie Authenticator.
  4. Tap Notifications.
  5. Ensure Allow Notifications is toggled on.
  6. Tap on the notification categories (e.g., General Notifications) and make sure Sound is enabled.
