Accessing your accounts

Your Macquarie ID is your unique eight-digit user ID for accessing Macquarie Online Banking and the Macquarie Mobile Banking app.

You'll need both your Macquarie ID (or username) and your password to access your accounts.

Retrieve your Macquarie ID

Follow the steps below to retrieve your Macquarie ID on Macquarie Online Banking or Macquarie Mobile Banking app:

  1. On macquarie.com.au or Macquarie Mobile Banking app, select Log in
  2. Select Macquarie Online
  3. Select Forgot log in details?
  4. Select Forgotten your Macquarie ID
  5. Enter your last name, date of birth and registered email address. Select Submit
  6. If the details provided match our records, you’ll receive an email with the details of your Macquarie ID.

You can log in straight away with your retrieved Macquarie ID.

We may not be able to retrieve your Macquarie ID if you have multiple profiles. If you’re still unable to proceed, call us on 133 174 (+61 2 8245 4470), 24/7.

Change or reset your password

We recommend you to change your password from time to time as good practice to help keep your accounts safe.

To change your password in Macquarie Online Banking:

  1. Log in to Macquarie Online
  2. On the left-hand side menu, click on the Settings icon (cog wheel) below Help.
  3. On the Security settings page, scroll down to Update password
  4. Follow the instructions to enter a new password
  5. Confirm your new password, and click Update.

To change your password in the Macquarie Mobile Banking app:

  1. Open the Macquarie Mobile Banking app
  2. Select Forgot log in details?
  3. Select Forgot your password
  4. Enter your Macquarie ID and your mobile number. Select Submit
  5. If you have the Macquarie Authenticator app setup, you'll receive a push notification that you can open to directly approve the request to update your password. Alternatively you can navigate to your Authenticator app to find your rolling code and enter it on the screen
  6. If you don't have Macquarie Authenticator set up, you’ll receive a one-time SMS code on your mobile.
  7. Once you receive the SMS code, navigate to Macquarie Authenticator app to enter the code.
  8. Create a new password.

You can use your new password straight away.

Unlock your Macquarie ID

Your Macquarie ID will be locked if the wrong password has been attempted too many times or if we've identified suspicious activity on your account. 

To unlock from incorrect login detail combinations:

  1. On macquarie.com.au select Log in
  2. Select Macquarie Online
  3. Attempt to log in with your locked credentials
  4. Select Unlock your Macquarie ID to begin the unlock process
  5. Enter your mobile number associated to the Macquarie ID you have been locked out from
  6. If you have the Macquarie Authenticator app set up, you’ll will receive a push notification which you can click to go to your Authenticator app  that you can open to directly approve the request to update your password. Alternatively you can navigate to your Authenticator app to find your the rolling code and enter it on the screen.
  7. If you do not have Authenticator set up, you’ll receive a one-time SMS code on your mobile. Enter the code
  8. Once you receive the SMS code, navigate to Macquarie Authenticator app to enter the code. 
  9. Proceed to log in again.

Change your Macquarie ID to a username

You can log into Macquarie Online Banking and the Macquarie Mobile Banking app with a username, instead of using your Macquarie ID. For security purposes, you should choose a username that’s hard to guess.

We recommend you avoid using personal details for your username, such as your own name. The unique username must be more than 6 characters in length, and must include at least one letter.

To set a username in Macquarie Online Banking:

  1. Select the profile icon in the top banner
  2. Select My profile
  3. Click on the edit pencil icon next to your Macquarie ID
  4. Enter a unique username
  5. Select Update Macquarie ID

Merge multiple Macquarie IDs into one
