What is financial hardship?

If you are struggling to meet your regular repayments due to unexpected circumstances, you may be require financial assistance. There are many situations that might lead you to seek financial assistance for example:

  • unemployment or reduced income
  • health related issues or illness
  • relationship breakdown
  • family and domestic violence
  • financial abuse
  • loss of family member
  • rising cost of living or being overcommitted
  • natural disaster
  • help with your repayment while you sell your property
  • business downturn

Please note that non-essential spending, or foreseeable expenses such as routine home repairs and maintenance, may not constitute financial hardship.

What financial assistance can Macquarie provide?

We understand everyone’s situation is unique. That’s why we offer a range of financial assistance support options that can be tailored to meet your needs. This may include:

  • deferring or reducing your repayments for an agreed period, or
  • assistance with missed repayments.
