How do I close a Macquarie Cash Management Account?

You can request to close a CMA in Adviser Online provided:

  • you’re the primary servicing adviser. Alternatively, any support staff with access to the primary adviser code may also complete the closure.
  • the closing balance of the CMA is $0, and the linked Accelerator account is closed (if applicable).

To submit a closure request:

  1. Log in to Adviser Online
  2. From the global search bar, select Accounts from the drop-down menu
  3. Search for your client’s CMA account number or name
  4. Select your client’s CMA account
  5. Select Account Details
  6. Select Close Account
  7. Enter BSB & Account details for any accrued interest to be transferred to
  8. Review the closure details and follow the prompts to submit the request.

Note, client authorisation is not required.

How do I close a Macquarie Cash Management Accelerator Account (Accelerator)?

You can request to close an Accelerator account in Adviser Online provided:

  • you’re the primary servicing adviser. Alternatively, any support staff with access to the primary adviser code may also complete the closure.

To submit a closure request:

  1. Log in to Adviser Online
  2. From the global search bar, select Accounts from the drop-down menu
  3. Search for your client’s Accelerator account number or name
  4. Select your client’s Accelerator Account
  5. Select Account Details
  6. Select Close Account
  7. Review the closure details and follow the prompts to submit the request.

It typically takes 1 business day to close an Accelerator account.
Once the account is closed:

  • the remaining Accelerator balance and any accrued interest will be transferred to the linked CMA
  • you can close the linked CMA in Adviser Online.

Can I use the withdrawal form to close my client's CMA or Accelerator account?

We no longer accept paper withdrawal forms submitted by an adviser for the purpose of account closure under $500,000. Instead, you can reduce the balance to $0 using Adviser Initiated Payments and then complete the closure via Adviser Online.

For closures where the balance is over $500,000, the primary servicing adviser (or support staff with access to the primary adviser code) can submit the withdrawal form to close the account:

  1. Download and complete the withdrawal form from adviser tools
  2. Upload the completed form to Request Centre.
