What is Report Builder?

Report Builder provides advisers and support staff with a versatile reporting tool directly in Adviser Online. This feature allows users to create:

  • consolidated packs of multiple reports for their clients in one centralised location
  • bespoke reporting packs that can be saved as a template and used for client reporting on an ongoing basis
  • reports for individual accounts or groups of accounts.

How can I run reports using Report Builder?

To use Report Builder for an individual account:

  1. Log into Adviser Online
  2. Find a client account for which you want to run a report pack
  3. Select the client’s Wrap account using the global search bar or side navigation
  4. Select the Report Builder tab
  5. Select the reports you want to include in the report pack on the ‘Reports’ tile
  6. Select your preferred date range and format options for each report
  7. Reorder the reports using the Re-order selection button
  8. Select the Download button.

To use Report Builder for a Reporting Wrap group:

  1. Log into Adviser Online
  2. Select the Reporting Wrap group using the Wrap groups drop-down in the global search bar or side navigation
  3. Select the Report Builder tab
  4. Select the reports you want to include in the report pack on the ‘Create a report’ tile
  5. Select your preferred date range and format options for each report
  6. Reorder the reports using the Re-order selection button
  7. Select the Download button.

Note: You can instantly create Wrap groups within Adviser Online or leverage existing reporting groups to generate the group report pack. All active accounts within a group (up to a maximum of 8) will be selected by default. If a group contains more than 8 accounts, you will be prompted to select up to 8 accounts for inclusion in the report.

How can I use Report Builder templates?

This functionality provides you with the ability to create templates that save your report pack preferences for easier downloads. For account level Report Builder, there are two all templates provided for  your clients’ Wrap accounts:

  • an EOFY pack
  • a quarterly pack.

You can create additional templates by clicking on the New template button on the Templates tile/tab.

A few things to note:

  • All reports you can create on the Reports tile can also be included in a template.
  • You can create templates that are accessible across either one account/group (Account/Group only) or all your accounts/groups (All my accounts/Groups).
  • The templates you create can’t be shared with others in your practice – they’re unique to your profile. However, once a Report pack is successfully generated from the Templates tile, it will be shown on the Generated reports tile, allowing all users with access to the account/group, the ability to access the Report pack. See the Generated reports section for more information.
  • Once an account is closed, new templates can’t be created for that account but you can still see the existing templates.
  • Once a group is deleted, all existing templates and generated reports are deleted.

What are generated reports?

Generated reports enable you to access and download reports more efficiently.

A few things to note:

  • The tile will only display Report packs that have been successfully generated in the last 90 days from the Reports or Templates tile.
  • Any user with access to the account/group will have access to see all reports generated for that account/group.
    • For example, if a support staff downloads a Report pack for an account/group, the adviser will be able to log in with their Macquarie ID, navigate to the account/group and access the generated Report pack.
    • Users will be able to download, view details and delete the generated Report pack.

What if accounts are closed or weren't active for the entire reporting period?

When generating group performance reports, Adviser Online will only consider an account's active period for performance calculations, limiting values to that timeframe. While you can’t add already closed accounts to a new group, if an account was active during the group's creation and subsequently closed, it can still be included in group reports.

If you’re using group performance reporting to report on accounts following a Super to Pension switch (or vice versa), please note the account that’s pending closure will need to already be in the Wrap group to be included in the group report pack.
