What type of business banking data can be shared?

Macquarie Connect lets you share the following business banking data with your software providers:

  • Account details such as your account name, account number and account balance.
  • Transaction information such as the date of transactions, amount credited or debited and simple categorisation of the transaction (e.g. whether the transaction is a fee or interest).

How do I start sharing business banking data?

The steps below provide a general overview of the authentication process for sharing data via Macquarie Connect. The exact process may vary depending on your business management software.

If you’re unsure or need more details, please refer to your software provider’s release/support notes, or contact your software provider or administrator directly for guidance on your specific consent process.

Only one nominated individual (providing a single consent) needs to follow the steps below to action this request for your business.

  1. Log in to your business management software.
  2. Look for a button that says ‘Connect’ or ‘Connect to Macquarie’ to begin (the process to start sharing your data will be unique to your software).
  3. You’ll be securely redirected to Macquarie. Simply enter your Macquarie ID and approve the request using Macquarie Authenticator.
    • If you have push notifications enabled, open the push notification on your Macquarie Authenticator app and verify the request
    • Alternatively, if push notifications aren't enabled, open the Authenticator app and select the request from your task list.
  4. Select Next.
  5. Choose which facilities you'd like to share data from. By selecting a facility, you’ll be authorising data sharing for all accounts under that facility.
  6. Select Next.
  7. On the Confirm details screen, check all the details are correct.
  8. Select Confirm.
  9. Wait to be redirected back to your business management software to finalise the data sharing request.

It’s important you stay on the page until you’re automatically redirected back to your software. If nothing happens after a few moments, click the button to return manually.

In some cases, you’ll need to make sure you’re using the most current version of your business management software to start using Macquarie Connect. Please reach out to your software provider for any assistance in installing this latest release.

Please note: We’ll never ask you for your Macquarie password during this process.

How do I share data for multiple business entities?

If you have more than one business entity you’d like to share data for, you’ll need to repeat the above steps for each entity.

Please note, we’ll never ask you to provide your Macquarie password during this process.

How do I stop sharing business banking data?

If you'd like to stop sharing your data, please send an email to business@macquarie.com.

What happens if I change my software provider?

If you’re switching to a new business management software, you'll need to:

  1. Stop data sharing with your previous provider, then
  2. Set up data sharing consent with your new provider.

What if data sharing isn't working?

If you’re having trouble sharing your business banking data with your software, we recommend reaching out to your business management software. They’ll be able to provide detailed guidance on initiating the data sharing via Macquarie Connect.
