What type of business banking data can be shared?

Macquarie Connect lets you share the following business banking data with your software providers:

  • Account details such as your account name, account number and account balance.
  • Transaction information such as the date of transactions, amount credited or debited and simple categorisation of the transaction (e.g. whether the transaction is a fee or interest).

How do I start sharing business banking data?

To start sharing your data, you'll need to initiate the data sharing process from the software that you wish to share your business banking data with.

From there, you’ll be redirected to Macquarie, where you’ll need to:

  1. Enter your Macquarie ID.
  2. Click Next.
  3. You’ll get a notification from Macquarie Authenticator
    • If you have push notifications enabled, open the push notification on your Macquarie Authenticator app and verify the request.
    • Alternatively, if push notifications aren't enabled, open the Authenticator app and select the request from your task list.
  4. Select the business you’d like to set up for data sharing.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Choose the facilities where you’d like to share Macquarie data by ticking the checkboxes.
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the Confirm details screen, check all details are correct and click Confirm.

It’s important that you stay on the page until you are automatically redirected back to your software. If nothing happens after a few moments, click the button to return manually.

How do I share data for multiple business entities?

If you have more than one business entity, you’d like to share data for, you’ll need to repeat the above steps for each entity.

Please note, we’ll never ask you to provide your Macquarie password during this process.

How do I stop sharing business banking data?

If you'd like to stop sharing your data, please send an email to business@macquarie.com.

What happens if I change my software provider?

If you’re switching to a new business management software, you'll need to update your data sharing consent. This involves:

  1. Stopping data sharing with your previous provider
  2. Setting up data sharing consent with your new provider.

What if data sharing isn't working?

If you’re having trouble sharing your business banking data with your software, we recommend reaching out to your business management software. They’ll be able to provide detailed guidance on initiating the data sharing via Macquarie Connect.
