Frequently asked questions
You can purchase an eGift card using your transaction, savings or offset account on Macquarie Online Banking:
- Select the Marketplace icon from the side menu; or first click on the icon in top left-hand corner to display the side menu
- Choose your eGift card and click Select
- Review the purchase details. You can change accounts by selecting Change
- Select Purchase to complete the payment.
You can also purchase an eGift card using the Macquarie Mobile Banking app:
- Select the
icon on the front screen
- Select Marketplace
- Choose your eGift card
- Review the purchase details. You can select which account you’d like to use
- Select Purchase to review the purchase details
- Select Confirm to redeem your eGift card.
The total amount that you spend on eGift cards can’t exceed $5,000 per day.
Your eGift cards can be found in the Macquarie Mobile Banking app and Macquarie Online Banking immediately after purchase. You’ll also receive email confirmation of your eGift card purchase. Your eGift cards can be used immediately after purchase, both in store and online.
You (as the primary cardholder) can redeem your points at any time via Macquarie Online Banking or the Macquarie Mobile Banking app.
To redeem using Macquarie Online Banking:
- Select the Macquarie Marketplace icon from the side menu; or first click on the icon in top left-hand corner to display the side menu
- Select the eGift card brand and denomination you’d like to redeem for
- Select Use points and Redeem.
To redeem using the Macquarie Mobile Banking app:
- Log in to the Macquarie Mobile Banking app, select the
icon on the home screen and select Marketplace
- Select the eGift card brand and denomination you’d like to redeem for
- Select Use points and Redeem.
You may be prevented from redeeming points if you haven’t activated your credit card or you’re in breach of your account Conditions of Use, for example, if you haven’t made your minimum monthly repayments.
Our rewards program is digital and offers a range of eGift cards for you to choose from. You can redeem your Macquarie Rewards points for eGift cards at over 50 leading retailers including Myer, Woolworths, Jetstar, Harvey Norman, Amazon, Amart, JB Hi Fi and Bunnings Warehouse. As our program is now fully digital, we don’t offer physical gift cards.
You can also choose to redeem points for Cashback into an eligible Macquarie account.

To share a purchased eGift card follow the steps below:
Macquarie Mobile Banking app
- Select the red Pay icon and then select Marketplace
- Click on My Cards
- Click on the eGift card you would like to share
- Click the share button.
Once you have sent your gift card, the recipient will receive a link where they can view and use the eGift card.
Remember, you can always access your eGift cards via the Mobile app or Macquarie Online.
If you’ve changed your email address since opening your account, you can update it through your profile on Macquarie Online.
