When can I open an Accelerator account?

You can open a Macquarie Cash Management Accelerator (Accelerator) account and CMA (or Wrap Cash account) at the same time, or open a new Accelerator account and link it to an existing CMA or Wrap Cash account.

Your clients can only have one Accelerator linked to each CMA or Wrap Cash account.

Can I open an accelerator account for an SMSF?

You can open an Accelerator account alongside all CMA structures, including SMSFs.

What client details are copied across to a linked Accelerator account?

The following details will be copied across from your client’s existing CMA or Wrap Cash account to their linked Accelerator account:

  • Account details
  • Contact details
  • Tax File Number (TFN)
  • Primary adviser. Please note, this includes view authority and Accelerator Account Transfer authority to allow them to transfer between the client's CMA and Accelerator.
  • Any other financial services professional or financial services company with view authority on the CMA.

What client details are not copied across to the new Accelerator account?

The following details will not be copied across from your client’s existing CMA or Wrap Cash account to their linked Accelerator account:

  • Any linked accounts
  • Third party authorities (not listed above, including individuals loaded as authorised signatories or other financial services professional or financial services company authorities)
  • Any services on the accounts (e.g. direct debits)
  • Any contact details if your client provides a different mobile number and email address on the application. As the email address is taken from the client's existing profile, your client will need to contact us to amend these details.

If your client wants to set up third parties on the account, they'll need to fill out a third party authority form.

What happens after I submit the Accelerator application?

  1. Your client will receive an email inviting them to accept the product terms and conditions:
    • Your client will receive multiple emails if more than one Accelerator account was opened at the same time 
    • For joint accounts, both account holders will receive an email and must accept the terms and conditions
    • If there are any outstanding items, we’ll send a request to the email address provided on the application. 
  2. Once the Accelerator account is opened, your client will receive a welcome email for every account opened. 

All correspondence is sent by email as the Accelerator is a digital product.

How long does it take to open an Accelerator account?

Accelerator accounts are generally opened within 1 business day.

Processing times begin only when we’ve received all necessary information and additional documents for the application. To avoid delays, please ensure you’ve completed all forms and uploaded all supporting documents before submitting.

How do I check the progress of an Accelerator application?

For existing clients, you can track the progress of an Accelerator application in Adviser Online.

  1. Log in to Adviser Online
  2. Select Applications from the menu beneath the Macquarie icon, then Pending Applications
  3. Search the application status using the name or application ID.

If you're opening a new CMA and Accelerator account, you can’t currently track the progress of the Accelerator application.
