We’ve recently been in touch to let you know about some important changes to your Woolworths credit card account.

Macquarie Bank, the issuer and administrator of Woolworths credit cards, will be closing all inactive Woolworths credit card accounts.

Your Woolworths credit card account has not been used to make a purchase or cash advance in over 13 months. Due to this inactivity, if not already closed, Macquarie will be closing your account on 21 February 2023, unless you spend on your card before this date.

How do I request a credit balance refund?

To request a credit balance refund on your Woolworths credit card account, please copy and paste the information below the line into an email and include your bank details. We’ll endeavour to process your refund within 60 business days of receiving your email request.

Note: the email request must be sent from the email address we have for you on file, for your Woolworths credit card account.

We’ll aim to process your refund within 60 business days of receiving your request.

What happens if I do not provide any instructions to transfer the credit funds by 21 February 2023?

You’ll still be able to request a credit balance transfer after your account is closed on 21 February 2023. Please note your funds may be subject to unclaimed money requirements. For more information, please read this Help Centre article on unclaimed money.

What is happening to my Woolworths credit card account?

Your Woolworths credit card account and any cards connected to this account will be closed on 21 February 2023 unless you spend on your card before this date.

On this date you’ll no longer have access to the Woolworths credit card online portal.

If, for any reason, your account is not closed on 21 February 2023, it’ll be closed on the next business day.

Why is my account being closed?

Your Woolworths credit card account hasn’t been used to make a purchase or cash advance for over 13 months. Due to this inactivity, Macquarie will be closing your account on 21 February 2023 unless you spend on your card prior to this date.

This closure will be made in line with Clause 33 of your Woolworths Credit Card Conditions of Use.

What if I spend on my card before 21 February 2023?

If you have an active Woolworths credit card and you spend on your card before 21 February 2023, your account will remain open and subject to the terms of your credit contract.

What will happen to any outstanding credit card points earnt on my Woolworths Everyday Credit Card or Woolworths Qantas Platinum Credit Card account?

If you have a Woolworths Everyday Credit Card, your credit card rewards program will end on 21 February 2023. Any credit card points remaining on your account at time of closure will automatically be converted into a Woolworths eGift Shopping card and sent to the email address we have on file for your account. Allow up to 30 days to receive your Woolworths eGift Shopping card after your account has been closed.

If you have a Woolworths Qantas Platinum Credit Card, your Qantas Points rewards program will end on 21 February 2023, and any remaining Qantas Points will be automatically transferred to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account by 31 March 2023.

What if my Woolworths credit card has expired or is missing?

If your Woolworths credit card has expired or is missing, you will not be able to be provided with a new Woolworths credit card.

What will happen to my access to the Woolworths credit card online portal?

If your account is closed, your Woolworths credit card online portal access will no longer be available from 21 February 2023

What will happen to my Everyday Rewards account?

There will be no changes to your Everyday Rewards account, and you can continue to collect Everyday Rewards points by scanning your Everyday Rewards barcode or your digital card in the Everyday Rewards app. See the Everyday Rewards terms and conditions for more information.

How do I get an Everyday Rewards card?

You can add your Everyday Rewards Card directly to your phone through your digital wallet or the Everyday Rewards app.

- Download the Everyday Rewards app

- Add your Everyday Rewards Card to Apple Wallet

- Add your Everyday Rewards Card to Google Pay

If you add your Card to your digital wallet or download the Rewards app, you can continue collecting Everyday Rewards immediately.

If you would like a physical card instead, you can order a new Everyday Rewards Card online by following these instructions:

  1. Log in to your account (if you are unable to login to your account, see instructions below)
  2. Select 'My Account' in the top right corner, then 'Cards & accounts'
  3. Scroll to 'Order a new card'
  4. Select your Everyday Rewards Card number and the reason for replacement
  5. Follow the prompts.

Please allow 7-10 business days for your replacement card to arrive. If it hasn't arrived after this time, please contact us
