Device notifications

Push notifications are messages that are displayed on your mobile device even when you’re not logged into the Macquarie Mobile Banking app. These notifications help keep track of important activity on your Macquarie accounts. 

They’re available if you have the following products:

  • Macquarie Home Loans
  • Macquarie Car Loan
  • Transaction, savings and offset accounts
  • Macquarie Business Savings
  • Macquarie Black Card
  • Macquarie Platinum Card
  • Macquarie RateSaver Card.

Turn on notifications on your mobile device

To turn on device notifications for the Macquarie Mobile Banking app:

  1. Select 'Notifications' under your device settings
  2. Select the Macquarie App
  3. Toggle on Allow notifications

To disable notifications for this device:

  1. Select the menu icon in the icon bar from the bottom right corner
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Notification settings 
  4. Tap on Manage notifications on this device and switch the Enable push notifications button to the 'off' position.

Customise device notifications within the Macquarie Mobile Banking app

You can select which accounts, transaction types and channels you'd like to receive notifications for, and also set a minimum dollar value.

To customise device notifications in Macquarie Mobile Banking app:

  1. Select the menu icon in the icon bar from the bottom right corner
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select  Notification settings
  4. If you’ve blocked the request for notifications in your device, select Manage in settings app on the 'Enable device notifications' banner and toggle Allow notifications to turn on push notifications on your device
  5. To enable/disable notifications for the specific account, select the account and toggle on or off Allow notifications
  6. You can also customise your notification types for a specific account or general ones received for your Macquarie ID, by clicking on them and toggling on or off to receive or stop receiving all notifications for that type and account
  7. Alternatively, you can specify which channels you no longer want to receive notifications on by toggling off the corresponding channel
  8. To set the amount threshold for specific notifications, tap the pencil icon, enter amount and tap Apply or Apply to all accounts.

You can also opt in to receive browser notifications on your computer. If you’d like to receive notifications only on your browser, you’ll need to block the mobile banking notifications. Please follow the steps above to disable your mobile banking push notifications.

Tip: You can update your notification preferences online either via Macquarie Online Banking or the Macquarie Mobile Banking app.

Turn on Quick View

Turn on Quick View to see the balance of selected accounts on the dashboard of the Macquarie Mobile Banking app without having to log in.

  1. Go to the Accounts tab
  2. On the dashboard select the triple-dot menu icon in the top right corner
  3. Select Manage quick view accounts option
  4. Select the accounts you want to include in your Quick View.

Set up Touch ID (iOS) or biometrics (Android)

You can choose to use Touch ID or biometrics to log into the Macquarie Mobile Banking app.

On Android:

  1. Log into the app using your normal app PIN
  2. Select the three-lined menu at the bottom right of the screen
  3. Select Settings
  4. Switch Use biometrics to log in to the 'on' position.

On iOS:

  1. Log into the app using your normal app PIN
  2. Select the three-lined menu icon at the bottom right of the screen
  3. Select Settings
  4. Switch Use Touch ID to log in to the ‘on’ position.
