Once you’ve downloaded the Macquarie Authenticator app from your app store you have several options to set it up:

  1. Adding via Scanning QR code. This option is available for:
    1. Personal Banking accounts
    2. Adviser Online accounts
    3. Business banking accounts
  2. Adding via Macquarie Online Banking app. This option is available for:
    1. Personal Banking accounts only
  3. Adding Macquarie ID details manually. This option is available for:
    1. Personal Banking accounts,
    2. Adviser Online accounts
    3. Business banking accounts.

Scan QR code
  1. Select and confirm a six-digit PIN for your Macquarie Authenticator
  2. Choose to use Touch ID for fingerprint or facial recognition login to the app (optional)
  3. On "Add you Macquarie ID screen" tap on Add with Macquarie QR code
  4. On "Generate QR code" screen tap on Scan Macquarie QR code
  5. Log in to Macquarie Online Banking and:
    • Locate the QR code on the Dashboard banner; or
    • On the Dashboard click on your name in top right corner
    • Click on My Security, locate the Macquarie apps tile on My Security page and click on Activate with QR code
  6. Scan the QR code with your Authenticator app scanner
  7. Click Confirm on Important information screen
  8. Click Next
  9. Enter the SMS safe code that has been sent to your mobile (If you already have registered Macquarie Authenticator on another device, you will be asked to verify from that device)
  10. Click Done.

Set up with Macquarie Mobile Banking app
Latest version of Macquarie Mobile Banking app must be installed on the device for this option to be enabled
  1. Select and confirm a six-digit PIN for your Macquarie Authenticator
  2. Choose to use Touch ID for fingerprint or facial recognition login to the app (optional)
  3. On "Add you Macquarie ID screen" tap on Add with Macquarie app
  4. When redirected to the Macquarie Mobile Banking app login with:
    • PIN or
    • Biometrics
  5. When redirected back to the Authenticator app, Click Confirm on Important information screen
  6. Click Next
  7. Enter the SMS safe code that has been sent to your mobile (If you already have registered Macquarie Authenticator on another device, you will be asked to verify from that device)
  8. Click Done.

Setup manually
  1. Select and confirm a six-digit PIN for your Macquarie Authenticator
  2. Choose to use Touch ID for fingerprint or facial recognition login to the app (optional)
  3. On "Add you Macquarie ID screen" tap on Add manually
  4. Enter your Macquarie ID or Macquarie username and password
  5. Click Confirm on Important information screen
  6. Click Next
  7. Enter the SMS safe code that has been sent to your mobile (If you already have registered Macquarie Authenticator on another device, you will be asked to verify from that device)
  8. Click Done.

Once the setup process is complete, your device will automatically receive actionable push notifications instead of SMS when prompted to verify certain transactions or account changes in Macquarie Online Banking or on the Macquarie Mobile Banking app.

Finding QR code

You can find the QR code to scan when logging in to Macquarie Online Banking.


To scan a QR code:

  1. Log in to Macquarie Online
  2. Locate the QR code on the Dashboard banner; or
  3. Click on your name in top right corner
  4. Click on My Security
  5. Go to Macquarie apps tile
  6. Click on Activate with QR code
  7. Scan the QR code.

Finding your Macquarie ID

You can find your Macquarie ID in both Macquarie Online Banking and the Macquarie Mobile Banking app.

To view your Macquarie ID online:
  1. Log in
  2. Select your name in the top right and click My profile
  3. Your Macquarie ID will be displayed under My login details.

To view your Macquarie ID in the Mobile Banking app:
  1. Log in
  2. Select the menu icon in the icon bar from the bottom right corner
  3. Your Macquarie ID will be at the bottom of the menu section.
