What’s Macquarie Authenticator?

Macquarie Authenticator is our most secure verification method. It’s a standalone mobile app that sends you or your clients actionable push notifications to verify certain actions and account changes. Macquarie Authenticator sits alongside both Macquarie Online Banking and the Macquarie Mobile Banking app and for certain actions in Adviser Online. 

The Macquarie Authenticator app:

  • sends push notifications to approve or deny payment transactions or account changes in real-time, or 
  • provides codes that are available 24/7 without the reliance of a cellular or data network, overcoming internet or SMS issues when you’re travelling overseas. Please note your client can only use codes to approve payments they initiate themselves via Macquarie Online Banking or Macquarie Mobile Banking.

It’s different to the Macquarie Mobile Banking app

The Macquarie Mobile Banking app and the Macquarie Authenticator app are separate apps, and you will need to download both on your phone. 

The Macquarie Mobile Banking app is our cutting-edge digital app that makes managing your money simple and convenient.

The Macquarie Authenticator app is an extra layer of security for your Macquarie ID that helps protect your account and personal information on Macquarie Online Banking and the Macquarie Mobile Banking app.

Adviser actions that use Macquarie Authenticator

Currently, advisers and support staff who use Adviser Online can register for the Macquarie Authenticator app and use it as a more secure method of multi-factor authentication to:

  • Update or reset your Adviser Online password
  • Approve ESI code generation
  • Manage your secure, registered devices.
