Frequently asked questions

First, you’ll need to download the latest version of the Macquarie Mobile Banking app from the Play Store:

  1. Search: Macquarie Mobile Banking in the app store and download the app 
  2. Log in to the Macquarie Mobile Banking app with your Macquarie ID and Password
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your passcode/fingerprint verification.

Once you have done this, follow the steps below on your Android device:

Macquarie Mobile Banking app

Accounts with a linked debit card will be displayed in the dashboard that can be added to your Google wallet.

  1. Click on the Account card icon
  2. Click I want to
  3. Click Add card to Google Pay
  4. Click Next. Read the Terms and Conditions
  5. Click Agree if you accept
  6. Your card is now added to Google Pay.


Google Wallet

  1. Download the Google Pay app from the Google Play Store
  2. Open the Google Pay app on your device and tap the + sign
  3. In the app, take a photo of your card or manually enter your card information
  4. Accept Macquarie Terms of Use for Google Pay
  5. Follow on-screen verification process.

You can set your Macquarie card to be your default payment card by tapping the digital Macquarie card and selecting Default for contactless.

You can have multiple credit cards, debit cards and loyalty cards on Android Wallet.

  1. Add your eligible card on your compatible Android device
  2. At checkout, press the power button to wake up your phone and unlock your device
  3. Make sure that NFC is enabled
  4. Hold the back of your device over the contactless terminal
  5. Wait for your phone to beep or vibrate and you’ll receive a confirmation on screen.

You may need to enter your PIN or sign a receipt for transactions over $100.

For Apple Pay:

You can return items purchased using your card in Apple Pay by providing the merchant with the last four digits of your Device Account Number instead of your plastic card number.


To access your Device Account Number:

  1. Open your Wallet App
  2. Tap the card you used to purchase the goods you would like to return
  3. Tap the more [three dots] icon in the top right corner
  4. Scroll to see your Device Account Number.


In the Wallet select the card you used to make the purchase and hold your device near the contactless terminal at the merchant once the return has been keyed in by the shopkeeper.

For Google Pay:

You can return items purchased using your card in Google Pay by providing the merchant with the last four digits of your virtual account number instead of your plastic card number.

To access your Virtual Account Number:

  1. Open the Google Pay App
  2. Tap the card you used to purchase the goods you would like to return
  3. Scroll down to your card details.


In Google Pay select the card you used to make the purchase and hold your device near the contactless terminal at the merchant once the return has been keyed in by the shopkeeper.

It may take several days for a refund to appear on your card statement.

Please remember to keep the original receipt you received from the merchant at the time of purchase as the Google Pay or Apple Pay receipt is not an official proof of purchase.
