What does my client need to register for Macquarie Authenticator?

Before your clients can register to the Macquarie Authenticator app, they’ll need to know their Macquarie ID, password, and have their current mobile on file with us.

  • You can view your client’s mobile and email details on file on the Client Overview screen in Adviser Online

  • Clients can retrieve their Macquarie ID and reset their password in Macquarie Online Banking by selecting Forgot login details?
  • If a client has never logged in and so doesn’t have a password yet, they need to select New to Internet Banking? Register now on the Macquarie Online Banking home screen.

When your clients are ready to download and use Macquarie Authenticator, the following Personal Help Centre articles can help them get started:

Once the registration process is complete, your client can start approving payments created in Adviser Online.

To receive push notifications, your clients will need to enable notifications for Macquarie Authenticator in their device settings.

How do I know if my client has registered for Macquarie Authenticator?

There are two ways to see if your client has registered for Macquarie Authenticator:

Download client list

  1. Log in to Adviser Online
  2. Select Download client list from the Adviser Online dashboard 

The client list will contain all clients and related parties, including authorised signatories, linked to accounts that you have visibility of in Adviser Online. This information is updated overnight.

The dealer/adviser filter dropdown on the Adviser Online dashboard will similarly contain all dealer/adviser codes you have visibility of in Adviser Online. All available codes are selected to be included in the client list file by default. You can use this filter to choose codes to refine the scope of clients and related parties you want to include in the client list file download.

Note: You'll only have the ability to filter by adviser codes if you have adviser-level visibility on Adviser Online, and by dealer codes if you have dealer-level visibility.

How can clients check their registration status?

Your client can see if they’ve registered for Macquarie Authenticator in Macquarie Online Banking:

  1. Log in to Macquarie Online
  2. Select the Settings icon in the left corner of the screen, then select Security settings
  3. If your client has registered for Macquarie Authenticator, they'll see the word Installed in green, next to the Macquarie Authenticator heading, on the Macquarie apps tile.

Similarly, your client can see if they’ve registered for Macquarie Authenticator in the Macquarie Mobile Banking app:

  1. Log in to Macquarie Mobile Banking
  2. Select the Menu icon in the right corner of the screen, then select Security
  3. Select Macquarie apps
  4. If your client has registered for Macquarie Authenticator, they will see the word Installed in green.

What devices can’t be used with Macquarie Authenticator?

For security purposes, to use the Macquarie Authenticator app, your mobile device should be updated to either Android 8.0 or iOS 15.0, or above. You can check and update this in your device settings. If you don’t have a device that can meet these requirements, you’ll need to upgrade to a compatible device to continue using the app.
