How do I close my credit card account?

If you decide that your Macquarie credit card is no longer right for you, please follow the steps below to close your account via Macquarie Online Banking or the Macquarie Mobile Banking app.

Please note in order to do this, the following conditions apply:

  • You must have paid down your account balance to $0
  • Upon account closure, your participation in the Macquarie Reward Program (if applicable) will be automatically cancelled and you’ll forfeit all unredeemed Macquarie Reward Points. See How to redeem credit card reward points for more information.

If you have a credit balance you will need to request a Credit Balance Refund prior to closing your account. See How do I request a refund of a credit balance for more information.

Close your credit card in Macquarie Online Banking

  1. Hover over your credit card account in the account list
  2. Select I want to
  3. Select Close Account. This appears on the right of the screen next to Account Summary. 

Close your credit card in the Macquarie Mobile Banking app

  1. Select your credit card account
  2. Select the I want to button
  3. Scroll down and select Account closure.
